Join Choir of the Earth for our brand-new Messiah For The World course, starting on 30 June 2025.
On 28-29 June 2025, we will partner with St George's Bristol for the extraordinary Messiah For The World event, where global participants will sing Handel’s Messiah for 24 hours straight, in person and live online. Further details about this landmark global choral event will be announced in due course, but it promises to be a truly unique and exciting experience for all involved.
Following the event, Choir of the Earth will launch a fresh new opportunity to learn, sing and record Handel’s masterpiece in an entirely new way.
For those who have sung and recorded Messiah with us before, this will be a whole new experience, 5 years on from our first ever course, Messiah At Home. This is no “lockdown project” - over the past five years, both Choir of the Earth and Ben England have worked hard to refine our teaching process, incorporating new techniques and cutting-edge technology to elevate the online learning experience.
This course will feature brand new vocal learning tracks, recorded exclusively for us by the renowned Fieri Consort. Combined with our existing baroque orchestral accompaniment, featuring prominent musicians and led by harpsichordist Laurence Cummings, we will offer an exceptional foundation for our new performance, and an unmatched standard of resources.
Led by the brilliant Ben England, the course will guide you through every movement of Handel’s Messiah, with Ben’s in-depth teaching supported by the latest advances in online choral teaching.
By the end of the course, participants will have been invited to record their own parts for a brand-new performance of Messiah, featuring new solos from Fieri Consort. Our audio engineers - world leaders in digital choral mixing - will use cutting-edge developments to create a breathtaking final recording.
This will be the ultimate online choir experience for the ultimate choral work, with the final recorded performance premiering as our Christmas 2025 concert.
The course will run from 30 June until 16 October 2025, with a 3-week summer break in August (dates TBC).
