Learn, sing and record a Quartet of Kyries

Choir of the Earth - Quartet of Kyries

Join Choir of the Earth from Monday 24 March 2025 for our latest choral adventure, Quartet of Kyries, where our Musical Director Ben England will guide you through four magnificent Kyries from across the choral repertoire.

A Kyrie is a beautiful and deeply expressive musical setting of the traditional Christian prayer “Kyrie eleison", which translates as "Lord, have mercy”. Typically forming part of the mass, the Kyrie has inspired countless composers throughout history to create some of their most moving and intimate works, combining rich harmonies and profound spirituality.

In this course, which runs over four weeks in total, we will explore a different Kyrie each week. The first two weeks will begin on 24 March 2025, followed by a two-week Easter break, and the final two weeks will resume on 2 May. At the end of the course, participants will vote on their favourite Kyrie, and we will record the winning piece as our performance for this course.

No matter your level of experience, Choir of the Earth welcomes everyone to take part. Our friendly and flexible learning style ensures that you can join in at your own pace, with all rehearsals recorded and available for you to catch up at any time. You'll have access to our world-class resources, including expertly prepared guide tracks and comprehensive teaching from Ben, ensuring a truly rewarding musical journey.

Once you’ve learned the music, you can record yourself singing at home, adding your voice to our chosen Kyrie for a unique global choir performance.
