Transform how you learn choral music: Choir of the Earth is now on Soundslice!

Choir of the Earth has launched its presence on the Soundslice Store with innovative ‘living score’ packs for three great choral works, introducing choral singers everywhere to a completely new way to learn and interact with music.

Soundslice is a powerful online platform that transforms a musical score into a fully interactive experience.

All you need is a phone, tablet, or computer with a web browser and a ‘Slice’ (or piece of music) to work with.

The score moves in real time with the music, and users can adjust the playback to suit exactly how they like to rehearse - whether that means slowing things down, looping a tricky phrase, or muting the other voice parts to hear their own line more clearly.

Musical Director Ben England BEM describes Soundslice as:

“The most powerful tool to come into choral music since the invention of the paper score.”

In the video below, he demonstrates how Soundslice works and how Choir of the Earth’s Soundslice resources can help choral singers learn and rehearse in a way that is completely tailored to their needs and preferences:

Choir of the Earth Musical Director, Ben England BEM, shows you some of the features of Soundslice and explains why he thinks it's the most powerful tool to come into choral music since the invention of the paper score.

Three major works are already available in the Choir of the Earth Soundslice store:

Mozart’s Requiem

Includes all movements: both choral and solos! Available at half price ($25) as an introductory offer until 30 September 2025 (will return to $50 on 1 October 2025).

Haydn’s Nelson Mass (Missa In Angustiis)

Includes all movements: both choral and solos! Available at half price ($25) as an introductory offer until 30 September 2025 (will return to $50 on 1 October 2025).

Handel’s Messiah

Includes the choral movements only. The movements for Part I and more than half of Part II are already included in the pack, and the remaining movements are being added each week in tandem with the Choir's ongoing course - The Ultimate Messiah - which will be complete by early/mid-October. Currently available at half price ($35), returning to full price ($70) on 16 October 2025.

Each Slice features guide tracks featuring professional singers and accompaniment. These resources are ideal for preparing to perform with your local choir, rehearsing for an audition, or simply enjoying the chance to learn and sing these masterpieces at home.

Soundslice combines the functions of a digital score and rehearsal tracks, so singers can follow the music visually and audibly at the same time. However, Soundslice also gives singers full control over what you see and hear, personalising your choral resources to best suit your learning and rehearsal style. You can:

  • Show or hide each line of the score independently

  • Hear just your line and mute the others, or customise the volume of each independently to create your perfect mix

  • Click or tap to easily move around the score

  • Loop, repeat and focus on tricky bits until you feel confident with them

  • Adjust playback speed without affecting pitch

  • Zoom in and out, or even have a continuous score

Whether you are an experienced sight-reader or learn by ear, the moving score and flexible playback options allow you to rehearse at your own pace and build your confidence with every session.

When you purchase Slices from the Soundslice Store, you receive permanent access via your Soundslice account, including automatic updates if any issues or errors are spotted. There is no need to download or install anything - everything runs directly in a web browser, so you can use it wherever and whenever you like.

To get started, simply sign up for a free Soundslice account. Once registered, you can purchase packs directly from the Choir of the Earth store page on Soundslice. The Slices will then appear in your Soundslice account, ready to use whenever you log in.

The launch of these three works is only the beginning of Choir of the Earth’s work with Soundslice. Additional choral works are already being developed and will be added to the Soundslice Store later this year, providing singers everywhere with even more interactive, personalised tools to learn great choral works.

In the meantime, if you are learning Mozart’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah or Haydn’s Nelson Mass, why not give Choir of the Earth’s Soundslice resources a try and find out for yourself why they have been receiving enthusiastic feedback from choral singers around the world, including:

Speech bubbles saying, "I love being able to just show my own line and slow it down to learn it, then speed it up.", "It really does make learning easy, doesn’t it?", "The professional singers on the guide tracks are immensely helpful." etc
