Lift Thine Eyes

Since April 2020, The Self-Isolation Choir has been actively learning, recording and performing numerous choral classics from our own homes. We are all apart yet together as we learn and perform music online.

We now offer everyone, whether a member of the choir or not, the chance to learn and sing together our “Greatest Hits,” culminating in an online Concert on Saturday 21st November at 19.00 GMT.

How it will work

• We present LIVE online choir rehearsals on our broadcasting channel taken by our Music Director, Ben England BEM

• We have prepared teaching videos for each voice part: soprano, alto, tenor and bass so that we can spend quality time with you

• We have produced backing tracks with professional singers for your voice part only and for the full choir, making it easier to follow each piece

• We have produced a free online “pack” for your score (other than those in copyright)

To revise or learn your voice part for these pieces, we shall provide teaching videos for each piece when you join the course.

Scores

We have compiled a special score pack with all the scores included except for the John Rutter and Patrick Hawes works, for which a small extra charge is made as these works are still in copyright.

Rehearsal videos

In addition to the LIVE teaching by Ben England, our conductors created teaching videos for each piece. These videos feature Ben England for most pieces, except for the Verdi and Faure, which feature Harry Bradford, whilst the Bach and Fanshawe feature Ellie Slorach.

These videos will be sent to you as part of your Membership Pack.

Course fee

 The cost of the course and concert is £14.95 per person until 22:00 on Saturday 17th October UK time when it will rise to £19.95. We shall recommend a voluntary “ticket” price of £5 per person for family and friends to attend the online concert. We shall send you more details about obtaining tickets nearer the time.
