Symphony No. 2 - Mahler

“My grandfather would be so moved to know and understand that his Resurrection Symphony was being sung by people from all over the world at this crucial time, when we need hope and rebirth more than ever.”

-Marina Mahler

We premiered The Self-Isolation Choir’s performance of the final movement of Symphony No.2 by Gustav Mahler on Saturday 14th NOVEMBER 2020 to critical acclaim:

“Tonight’s performance was amazing and absolutely inspirational; an off the charts quality of performance.”

The production featured The Orchestra For The Earth, soloists Dima Bawab and Carla Lopez-Speciale and all conducted by John Warner.

No one met during this project - all singers and instrumentalists recorded from isolation and the individual results were combined in a studio to create the most intimate version of this movement yet created.

“The Mahler was a triumph! An extraordinary achievement. I've never had an experience so powerful in any choir before”.
