Peace on Earth

Over the last 24 months, the choir has been actively learning, recording and performing numerous choral classics from our own homes. We are all apart yet together as we learn and perform these beautiful pieces online.

We now invite you all to join us for the opportunity to learn and sing some of our Greatest Hits to raise funds for our Ukraine Appeal:

PEACE ON EARTH

This two-week course will be led by Ben England BEM and will follow the same format of our successful LET THERE BE LIGHT and LIFT THINE EYES courses, with the opportunity to learn and record two new pieces:

(1) a new choral arrangement of COMFORT YE, MY PEOPLE by Handel (arranged by Richard Gowers) and

(2) CANTIQUE DE JEAN RACINE by Gabriel Fauré.

We’re offering everyone, whether a member of the choir or not, the chance to learn and sing together this selection of wonderful works, culminating in an online Concert on Friday 20th May 2022.

Live Rehearsals

LIVE online choir rehearsals will be taken by our Music Director Ben England BEM. These can be watched later and as many times as you wish. Backing tracks with professional singers for your voice part only and for the full choir will also be made available, making it easier to follow each piece and aid your learning.

All sessions are FULL CHOIR sessions and are live at 17:00 UK time for one hour unless otherwise stated. They can be watched later and as many times as you wish. The dates of these rehearsals are as follows:

We shall ask you, if you wish, to record your voice for “COMFORT YE” from MESSIAH and CANTIQUE DE JEAN RACINE by Fauré.

Course Fee

We shall contribute all net proceeds of this course to our Ukraine Fund which currently stands at £11,311 as at 28th April 2022.

The course fee is £19.95.
