Summer School 2024: Grieg, Chilcott and Evensong in Finland | June/July/August 2024

Choir of the Earth Summer School 2024 - June, July and August

Our popular Summer School is renowned for its diversity of pieces, giving choral singers the opportunity to expand your repertoire and explore unsung territory on your musical journey.

Each ‘mini course’ lasts only two weeks, allowing you to take part while still enjoying everything summer has to offer (or winter for those in the Southern Hemisphere!).

Summer School 2024 begins on Monday 10 June and our Marvellous Musical Director Ben England will lead us through a variety of choral treats during June, July and August. Here's what we have in store:

JUNE

Teaching: 10-20 June 2024

Course launches on Monday 10 June 2024 at 17:00 UK time

We will learn, sing and record:

• Våren by Edvard Grieg •

• Dirait-On by Morten Lauridsen •

• To Be Sung Of A Summer Night On The Water 1 by Frederick Delius •

JULY

Teaching: 8-18 July 2024

Course launches Monday 8 July 2024 at 17:00 UK time

AUGUST

Teaching: 5-15 August 2024

Course launches Monday 5 August 2024 at 17:00 UK time

In August, we have an exciting collaboration with Tapiola Chamber Choir and Olari Church in Helsinki to perform a traditional English Evensong. Ben will teach the music online in early-mid August and we will stream the final performance from Helsinki. We will release further information, including the pieces we will sing, very soon.

Our Summer School pieces often end up in our Hall of Fame and so often we hear, “I wish I'd taken part in that one.” Don’t miss out - join us for a spectacular summer of singing!
